Sex can also attribute to lower cholesterol counts, relief from aches and pains, and can encourage prostate and genital health. However, the psychological benefits of sex are less publicized. The major psychological health benefits of sex include stress reduction and relaxation, as well as providing a natural sleep aid to help you fall asleep and stay asleep. Sex can also help to reduce depression.

Sometimes when you’ve had a long day at the office, a crazy day with the kids, or you suffer from life’s everyday worries, the thought of having sex can be the last thing on your mind. Unfortunately, many women and some men complain that their sex drive takes a back seat when they are stressed. Please keep in mind that individuals will not reap the psychological benefits of sex if they are irresponsible in the way they engage in intercourse. That’s because sex with multiple or random partners is not conducive to a sense of well-being. It is therefore not only the act of sex but the intimacy shared by people in love that provide so many health benefits.

  1. i totally agree what is said in the article and i add that sex is the best exercise for the whole body and it’s true that having multiple partners is not the right healthy way that’s why we call it making love instead of having sex because making Love is based on feelings and intimacy between the couple ..

  3. I was just thinking about this topic this morning. I been having all kinds of aches and pains. I can’t sleep through the night, stress is overwhelming me. And it hit me, I in a long distance relationship and I don’t have time to visit him. Hence no sex

  5. yes trust, safety , and love first because without them my body says “no” even if my mind is saying “oh, ok…”. at 60 after 2 live births and 30 years of marriage i will tighten up and dry up so that penetration is nearly impossible, like a 60 year old virgin!
