Sex: Women vs. Men
October 26Men think about sex more than women.
Only about one-quarter of women think about sex every day compared to the majority of men under the age of 60. Men as old as 70 still fantasize frequently about sex. Women get bogged down on lots of little intricate daily details that rob them of their ability to concentrate on sex, while men focus better with sexual release.
Men seek sex more enthusiastically.
Men want sex more often than women throughout the relationship. In the beginning, in the middle of it, and after many years throughout men are usually the ones who initiate sex.
Women’s sexual inclinations are more complicated than men’s.
What turns a woman on sexually? Many women don’t even know. Finding that magic something that sends shivers through your body is the enticement needed for an enchanted evening.
Social and cultural factors have a major effect on women’s libido.
Women’s sexual attitudes, practices and desires are influenced by their environment much more than men. Women who attend church regularly may have trouble exhibiting a permissive behavior even behind closed doors with their husband.
Women take a less direct route to sexual satisfaction.
Women’s desires are more subjective, a more complex web of emotion that requires a plot, a storyline that leads to a more enhanced ending, hence, the orgasm.
Women experience orgasms differently than men.
On average, it takes women longer to reach an orgasm than it does a man. About11 minutes for women compared to 4 minutes for men. However, women achieve orgasm less frequently than men. Part of the problem may be that women don’t think about sex as often and intensely as men, therefore it takes them longer to get in the mood, whereas men reach that state of arousal regularly.
Women’s libidos seem to be less amenable to drugs.
The search for a drug to boost sex drive in women has proved elusive. While medications have been proven to help men with erectile disfunction the same has not been true for helping the lady’s libido.
