3. Do Kegel exercises. Women can improve their sexual fitness and their bladder control by exercising their pelvic floor muscles. To perform these exercises, tighten the muscle you would use if you were trying to stop urine in midstream. Hold the contraction for two or three seconds, then release. Repeat 10 times. Try to do five sets a day. The wonderful thing about these exercises is that they can be done anywhere — while driving, sitting at your desk, or standing in a checkout line.

4. Try to relax. Do something that soothes and relaxes the two of you together before having sex, such as playing a game or going out for a nice dinner. Try relaxation techniques such as deep breathing exercises or yoga. Light candles in your bedroom and turn on some nice music.

7. Maintain your health. Your sexual health runs parallel with your overall mental, physical, and emotional health. Therefore, the same healthy habits you rely on to keep your body in shape can also shape up your sex life.

8. Eat a balanced diet. Eating a healthy diet is paramount to a healthy and happy sex life. Foods that make you gassy aren’t conducive to intimate moments. Avoid foods with too many preservatives that might end up giving you a headache.

9. Exercise for fun and healthy sex. Physical activity is numero uno among the healthy behaviors that can improve your sex life. Sexual arousal depends greatly on good blood flow and aerobic exercise strengthens your heart and blood vessels for better circulation all over your body. Exercise offers many other health benefits, from protecting your heart, delaying diseases such as osteoporosis, and some forms of cancer to improving your mood and helping you get a sleep better. Strength training builds muscle to protect your bones and joints from injury and makes you stronger to hold out in different positions longer.

10. Don’t smoke. Smoking interferes with sexual pleasure by contributing to peripheral vascular disease, which affects blood flow to the clitoris, and vaginal tissues. In addition, women who smoke tend to go through menopause two years earlier than their nonsmoking counterparts.
